Hey comic fans in San Francisco and farther north: I’ll be the cartoonist-in-residence at the Charles M. Schulz Museum this Saturday, September 3 from 1-3pm. I’ll have original art on display from Frankie Comics, Steven Universe, and Care Bears and have Frankie Comics books and merch for sale. Hope to see you there! ❤️

Steven Universe: Too Cool for School is finally here!

The 150-page book was written by Jeremy Sorese and Ian Jones-Quartey; drawn by Asia Kendrick-Horton and myself, coloured and lettered by Leigh Luna, with a cover by Rosemary Valero-O’Connell. <3

The book costs $14.99 and is available at a local shop near you. If you want to buy a signed copy directly from me, the book is also available in my online shop:

This book is a long time coming and had some significant hurdles along the way. I’m so proud of the team for their continued efforts to get this done and I’m glad that we can finally share this story with fans. I laughed out loud through the whole book and I hope everyone gets as big a kick out of it as I did. <3

I’ll be at MoCCA this weekend, April 2nd and 3rd.

LA Zine Fest this Sunday

by Rachel on March 1, 2016, no comments

I’ll be tabling at LA Zine Fest this weekend.

Sunday, March 6th at The Majestic – located at 650 South Spring St. Los Angeles, CA. 90014 – from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

LA Zine Fest is free to attend and is full of amazing creators of zines and mini-comics. It’s my favourite local show and I’m stoked to be able to exhibit there again this Sunday.

I’m at table 90 (listed as Rachel Dukes) sharing a table with friends Amanda and Geoffrey from The Devastator, next to buds Kevin Uehlein and Silver Sprocket. I was planning to have three amazing new books for the show but they were all bumped to mid-month releases, so you’ll just have to catch those at zineMELT on the 19th. This weekend I’ll have copies ofFrankie Comics #1 through #3 (with original art from Frankie Comics #2 through #4), posters, stickers, dolls, and other original art (queer anthologies, Garfield, Steven Universe, etc). I’ll also have the punk cartoonist anthology As You Were #4 from those inimitable folks over at Silver Sprocket!

Oh! I’m reading at the LAZF Pre-Fest Reading on Friday.

The Pre-Fest reading is this Friday, March 4th, at Ave. 50 Studios – 131 N. Ave. 50, Los Angeles, CA. 90042 – starting at 7:30 p.m. There’s definitely going to be a bunch of Frankie Comics in there but maybe some other secret stuff too if I feel like switching gears. There’s a lot of cool folks on the docket so I’d recommend visiting and checking them out. <3
