PRESS

PRAISE for Frankie Comics:

Frankie Comics

"Frankie is a delight! Dukes's comics are pure happiness: like rubbing your face into the belly of the world’s softest, fluffiest cat." — Zachary Auburn, author of How to Talk to Your Cat About Gun Safety

"A must-read for any cat owner!"
— Yuko Ota, co-creator of Johnny Wander, Lucky Penny, and Barbarous

"In turbulent days like these, it’s nice to have a quiet and charming book like Frankie Comics on hand."
— Tiffany Babb, The AV Club

"This ode to a beloved pet delightfully highlights the joys of living with a feline companion. Fluffy fun for cat lovers."
Kirkus Reviews

"Cat lovers will appreciate this book because they’ll relate to most of what it talks about: daily life with a cat and all the cute chaos that comes with it. Each comic is a testament to the cuteness that comes with having a cat companion, no matter how messy, wacky, or hilarious it gets."
Fangirl Nation

"This lighthearted fur fest is ideal for readers who aspire to, or see themselves in, Dukes's sweet little slice of adult domestic life."
School Library Journal

"[Frankie Comics] is a surefire hit for cat lovers."
— Tricia, Razorcake

"Dukes's Frankie comics are clear, well-drawn, and (most importantly) funny."
— Rob Clough, High-Low

"Dukes breathes new life into a genre (cute pet comics) that is quite a tired one. Her sense of design and timing is just outstanding and it serves her well repeatedly."
— Brian Cronin, Comics Should Be Good

"Rachel Dukes gets personal in a way that is totally safe for work. Frankie Comics explain that fun is rarely more than a crazy furball away. If you aren't a cat person, you will be by the last page."
— Rachel Ann Millar, Paperlinks Press

PRAISE for The Wizerd Vol.1:

The Wizerd

"Immersive and fantastical, The Wizerd! acts as an acerbic yet sweet all-ages fairytale. Far from the dark and often horror-tinged world of the Brothers Grimm, this is a charming Technicolor dreamworld where magic is real, cute creatures reign supreme, and every page is filled with the kind of detail that any comic book fan will want to spend hours poring over."
— Rosie Knight, Women Write About Comics

"Sweater and Dukes offer up some bright and playful sword-and-sorcery high jinks in this series starter, which features plenty of snappy banter, rollicking fight scenes, and hints of secrets yet to be revealed"
Booklist

"There are a lot of full page scenes that have so many little details in them that make the scenes shine, and yet the artwork isn’t complicated. There’s so much to see and enjoy in each panel, and the panel arrangements differ from page to page, keeping the story interesting and visually stunning."
Read by Roe

"Sweater and Dukes's characters are androgynous, and they/them pronouns are the norm in this world—an element not often seen in literature but one that's still needed. The words and art depict a believable, immersive, and laugh-out-loud funny world."
School Library Journal

PRAISE for Side B: The Music Lover's Comic Anthology:

Side B

"When I read about the Side B anthology at [Ryan] Kelly’s blog, I fell in love. I must have this. You must have this too."
— Sarah Jaffe, Newsarama

"You can check out previews and the full contributors' list for this music-themed comics anthology [online], but what caught my eye were four names that are contributing: Jeffrey Brown, Jim Mahfood, Dave Crosland and Brandon Graham. If the rest of the talent can stand with these guys, this is going to be one hell of a book."
— Randy, Inside Joke Theater

"...I'm a fan of music and a fan of comics so it would only stand to reason that this collection would be EPIC!"
— Sarah, A Dangerous State of Mind

"Flip me over, I'm b-side myself with joy. ... I'm already making space on my shelf."
— Craig Johnson, Comics Village

"What a lovely cover by Lucy Knisley. The insides are chock full of some of my favorite cartoonists drawing about their favorite music. That is a keeper right there."
— Jess Fink, JessFink@Livejournal

PRAISE for Side A: The Music Lover's Graphic Novel:

Side A

"As a combination music and comic geek, I really liked this independent, lo-fi collection of personal stories about music in individual lives. (I’ve already re-read it!)"
Syndicate Product Covert HQ

"Side A: The Music Lover's Graphic Novel is often amusing, sometimes surreal, and easily relateable for anyone who still cherishes their first vinyl record. This is coffee table reading for the musically nostalgic."
— Adrian Villagomez, Absolute Punk

"Side A: The Music Lovers Graphic Novel is a good mixtape, and you'd do well to get to know the people behind it a little better."
Trusty Plinko Stick

"This nice little anthology is a great read for the music lover out there..."
Comixtreme

"Genuine music lovers will probably get a bit more out of this than I did, granted, but good storytelling is good storytelling regardless of the subject... Absolutely a wonderful anthology..."
Optical Sloth

"Compiling 33 short comic stories by dozens of underground writers and artists, the B&W collection is, by nature, hit-and-miss, but overall does a solid job of turning musical passions into entertaining graphic storytelling."
